if your just starting to play, walmart has some very nice rackets that are like you said $20-$40. I think those worked great for me, but I never really got that good or was really into the sport, lol. However, if you do well and love it, then you can go ahead and buy a better one later.

Those aren’t very good. Decent will run you $70+.

But that is a good idea, considering you are just starting off..

But if you want to get good a little faster, then just buy a decent racket, and if you want to get really good later on, get a nicer racket, $200+.

Get one from the Salvation Army or Good Will, for a buck.

probably not, but it depends on how determined you are to play. if you want to be a decent player and such, splurge on a racket, but don’t go overboard. if it’ll just be a once a month kind of thing the price probably won’t be worth it. a good racket will be around $80 if your lucky enough to find one on sale. a $30 racket won’t be good. it’ll probably be too heavy and won’t fit your hand. just make sure that when you get one the grip is the right size. let me know if you need more help!

I bought one for $30 two years ago and its fine. Just look around for one that looks pretty good. you dont need to pay a lot of money to have fun.

If you are starting to play then I advise you to start somewhere with a decent racket. They usually cost $50-70 for a decent racket. Now my decent I mean balanced power, control, etc.

As you develop your skills in tennis, you will eventually find a racket that works well for you.
